Welcome to Shekinah

Hi reader, I'm Dominique KAYUMBA, founder of Zera, a ministry management platform built to serve the Ministries streamline their day to day operations. Shekinah is what I call the Kitchen of Zera: a space where my collaborators and I share ideas rooted in Scripture, in the form of Bible study notes and blog articles.

Why Shekinah?

While reading the book of Exodus, I was deeply moved by the fatherhood of God, his leadership, his companionship, his tender mercy, and the manifest weight of his Glory among his people.

The events of Exodus left one undeniable impression on me:

Whatever we do, wherever we go, what we need most is to carry the presence of God with us. That is Shekinah.

The word Shekinah (שְׁכִינָה) comes from the Hebrew root shakan, to dwell. It describes the tangible, manifest presence of God dwelling among his people: the cloud by day, the fire by night, the Glory that filled the Tabernacle.

That is the spirit of this space.

A Note on Sources

Everything shared here flows from personal study and the illumination of the Holy Spirit. We don't claim to be a seminary, we are disciples at the table, sharing what we've been served.

Exodus 13:21-22

"And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night. He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people."
